Hampaiden valkaisu/Teeth whitening

Tulipahan tämäkin koettua. Eipä ollut yhtään niin kamalaa kuin Suomi24:n keskusteluista saattoi päätellä. Mistä porukka repii sitä juttua? Ei vihlonut, ei sattunut, ei yhtään mitään ainakaan mun kohdalla. Halusin valkaista lähinnä kulmahampaat, koska muuten mulla on luonnostaan todella vaaleat hampaat. Menetelmänä oli BeyondTM. Lopputulos oli aika jees, täällä ollaan tyytyväisiä. Kannatti. :)

I had my teeth whitened yesterday with BeyondTM system. Satisfied with the result! :)

The Wedding

Siskoni häistä on jo vierähtänyt pari viikkoa, mutta ikimuistoinen päivä on edelleen yhtä vahvasti mielessä. Sain kunnian toimia siskoni kaasona ja spiikkerinä hääjuhlissa.

Koko homma alkoi polttareilla kolme viikkoa ennen häitä. Puimme siskoni "Tuksuksi" ja laitoimme hänet myymään "Tuksun selviytymispakkauksia", jotka sisälsivät kaikkea pientä kivaa... Siskoni oli yllättäen niin kova myyntitykki, että triplasi budjetin ja kauppasi kaiken koria myöten huomattavasti parempaan hintaan kuin mitä olimme arvioineet. No, saatinpahan muutamat extraskumpat... ;)

It's been about two weeks since my sister got married but the immemorial day still remains strongly in my mind. I had the honour of being my sister's maid of honour and the speaker at the wedding celebration.

It all began with the bachelorette party three weeks before the wedding. My sister had to act "Tuksu" (a stupid, useless blond who messed around with our politician) and we made her to sell some survival kits that included some fun stuff... My sister was such a good saleswoman that she tripled the budjet we had estimated her to collect and she sold all the survival kits  and even the basket where she carried them. Well, got little extra sparkling wine... ;)

Hääjuhla vietettiin upeissa merellisissä maisemissa, jonne hääpari saapui romanttisesti mahonkiveneellä. Siskoni säteili upeassa, valkoisessa hääpuvussaan.

The wedding ceremony was held by the seaside in beautiful circumstances. The wedding couple arrived to the location romantically by a mahogany boat. My sister looked stunning in her beautiful white dress.

Oma mekkovalintani oli kirkas turkoosi shamppanjan värisillä asusteilla ja hopeakoruilla.

My choice was a turquoise dress with champagne colored accessories and silver jewelry.

Hääjuhla oli onnistunut ja morsiuspari näytti upealta. Eikä kyyneliltä säästytty lopussa hääparin puheiden aikana... ♥

The wedding celebration went great and the wedding couple looked wonderful. At the end they both gave speeches that made everybody cry... ♥

Leopard shoes

Niin siinä sitten kävi, että neidin oli saatava leobaltsut... ;)

And so it did happen that the girl had to get leopard ballerinas...;)

Greetings from Turku

...the European Capital of Culture 2011 and my home town!

Ajattelin heittää lusikkani kulttuurisoppaan ja esitellä teille hieman näpsimiäni kuvia Euroopan kulttuuripääkaupungista 2011 - Turusta. Muita kulttuuripääkaupunkeja ovat tänä vuonna Tallinna ja Sarajevo.

Turku on Suomen vanhin kaupunki ja oli aikoinaan Suomen ensimmäinen pääkaupunki vuosina 1809-1812 ennen Helsinkiä. Kulttuuripääkaupungin tapahtumista lisätietoa saa täältä.

I though I should share with you some pictures I've taken of Turku (Åbo på svenska), the European Capital of Culture 2011. The other capitals of culture this year are Tallinn (Estonia) and Sarajevo (Bosnia & Herzegovina).

Turku is the oldest city in Finland and it was the first capital of Finland during 1809-1812 (today the capital is Helsinki). Turku lies in the south coast of Finland and has good connections over the sea  for example to Stockholm, Sweden.

Kengät ovat merkkiä Irregular Choice ja mallia Oriento Sun So. Sorruin sitten näihin tehdessäni juttua merkistä...sitä se surffailu teettää. :D Nyt sitten odotellaan, ovatko kenkulit yhtä söpöt livenä... :)

En voinut vastustaa noita mansikoita, kukkakoristeita ja erikoisia korkoja. Nastoitettu sivu ja pohja tuovat mieleen puukengät, mutta siihen yhtäläisyydet loppuvatkin. Jostain syystä mulle tulee noista koroista mieleen Bali...ehkä koska Balin puutaide on niin eksoottista...? Bali-kengät, come to mama.

Oops...it might have happened that I ordered this summer's cutest sandals! ♥ The brand is Irregular Choice and the model Oriento Sun So. I couldn't resist those strawberries, flowers and unique heels. The studded side and the wooden sole remind clogs but those are the only things common with them. For some reason those heels remind me of Bali...maybe because the Balinese wood art is so exotic...? Bali shoes, come to mama. Let's see if these shoes are as cute in live as in the pics...

Polaroid sunnies

Käytin ostamani CityDealin lahjakortin Hyvänäkö-optikolle näihin Polaroid-laseihin. Lahjakortti maksoi 10 euroa ja oli arvoltaan 40 euroa, joten sain ihan tuntuvan alennuksen näistä about 100 euron aurinkolaseista. Pidän lasien mallista, joka muistuttaa hieman perhosmallia - ne levenevät ulkosivuja kohti kuten perhosen siivet.

Nämä ovat todella kätevät esimerkiksi ajaessa, koska ne eivät tummenna liikaa ja estävät kaikki heijastukset. Sama juttu merellä: Jos ei suojaa silmiään kunnolla auringolta, näkee loppupäivän pelkkiä valotäpliä, koska vesi heijastaa auringonvaloa niin voimakkaasti.

I acquired new Polaroid sunnies. These are very handy when driving because they stop all the reflections. Same thing on the sea: If you don't protect your eyes well enough you'll be seeing white spots the rest of the day because water reflects the sunlight so strongly.

I like the model of these sunnies because it reminds a little bit the butterfly model - the glasses are wider on the outer side like the wings of the butterfly.

Grrr...

Vieläkö leopardikuviointi iskee? Itseäni kiehtoo leopardikuosi nyt enemmän kengissä ja asusteissa kuin vaatteissa. Olen tainnut vetää leopardiöverit hankkimalla pari leokuosista mekkoa ja pitkää paitaa, joissa kuosi vie koko asun huomion. Pienimpimuotoisena kuosi toimii kivasti asuste- ja kenkäpuolella, jolloin koko asu ei ole pelkää leopardia, vaan kuviointi on kiva detalji asun kyljessä.

Are you still into leopard pattern? I'd rather wear the pattern in form of shoes and accessories than clothes. Maybe I got an overdose by acquiring couple leopard dresses and long shirts in which the pattern steals all the attention from the outfit. In a smaller scale the pattern works well in accessories and shoes when the whole outfit isn't all just leopard but the pattern is a nice detail beside the outfit.
